Jetpack Sharing Buttons are Missing

Updated on May 10, 2020 By Carol Leave a Comment

Although I set up almost a dozen blog, I still forget how to do things because there’s much to tweak to get things done.

I learned how to display excerpt on the homepage of a blog with Genesis Theme.

Recently, I installed a GeneratePress Premium Theme on my other blog and can’t figure out why the Jetpack Sharing Buttons are missing.

It turned out that I had to do a bunch of stuff to display the sharing buttons.

How to Display Sharing Buttons

I checked my other blog to trace the steps that should be done to use the different Jetpack features.

Step 1: Install Jetpack and connect it to a WordPress.com account.

Step 2: Go to Jetpack > Sharing > enable “Add sharing buttons to your posts and pages.”

Configure Jetpack Sharing settings

Click “Configure your sharing buttons” or follow the next step. You can also enable the Like buttons.

Step 3: Go to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Sharing. Choose what social media icons you want to display on posts and pages.

Another resource: learn more on how to tweak the sharing buttons.

If I could only have two icons, I’ll choose Facebook and Twitter.

These are the social media icons I use in Social Warfare, another plugin to consider if you don’t want to install Jetpack.

Aside from Jetpack, what social media plugin do you use?
