From laptop (HP Stream) to printer, people I know have been having issues lately.
My friend recently moved and since then her printer wouldn’t connect to the new Wifi.
One day, I dropped by to see if I could help Google the solution ha ha.
She bought a cheap ($40 ish), new inkjet printer Canon Pixma TS3120. I never had a Canon printer. I had HP and Epson.
Here are the issues I had trouble with.
- The installation of software didn’t proceed. It cannot find the printer.
- I cannot add a printer through Control Panel.
- I cannot connect the printer to the Wifi using the settings on the printer. It’s interface is awful and so is the manual. Nothing is helpful.
The solution: Printer cable.
I lent my printer cable (which is not included anymore to new printer) and that solve the problem.
No matter how cheap Canon Pixma TS1320 is, don’t buy it. You’ll have a headache dealing with it that you’ll ask a friend for help.
Wait. There’s another problem.
It’s impossible to print from a cellphone.
We followed the video but the problem is it’s taking a long time to connect to Canon’s printer then the printer will display error.
Another downside is that you have to install an app.
We accepted defeat. I’m not sure if my friend has figure out how to solve the issue.
With this experience and the decision not to buy disposable inkjet printer, I will switch to laser printer once my Epson is beyond repair. Right now I cannot print and would have to buy a cleaning kit.
What other printer you had issues with and failed to resolve?
