When I added my main domain on Web Hosting Canada, it also created a folder which I’m going to call mymaindomain.com in this post.
But the root directory also has public_html on which I usually put all my files (even add-on domains) on my former web host (Siteground).
Moving on a new hosting makes me want to keep things organize as I keep adding files and add-on domains.

Root Directory Files
- public_html – contains my main domain files
- addon-domain – contains my add-on domain files
These two folders are in the root directory. I created the folder addon-domains first before adding domains using cPanel.
Moving Files to Web Hosting Canada
I used Commander One Pro (Mac) to transfer files from my MacBook Pro to Web Hosting Canada. I first tried the free version but there was nothing much I can use it for with its limited usage.
For now, it’s working well although I had a trouble connecting it to WHC because of missing information that I have to ask back and forth with WHC. But once I managed to set it up, adding more files for add-on domains were a breeze.
